Is the obession with beauty a reflection of the misogyny of our society?

I'm a guy, but it just makes me think about modelling, fashion, cosmetics, plastic surgery ... all of these industries function for the sole purpose of altering and reshaping women so that they become more appealing to men. They exist simply to cater to the desires of men, and reinforce the idea that women are ual objects. Do you agree?
