I love to read but I've been very busy lately, and have not found a good new book in a while. I'm an 18 year old girl, but I love a wide variety of books. I think teen books are alright, but they are not my favorites. Some of my favorites are Gone With the Wind (favorite book of all time), the Perks of Being a Wallflower, Wuthering Heights, the Great Gatsby, the Twilight series, anything by Jane Austen, the Edge Chronicles, Lord of the Rings, The Sword of Truth Series, and Tuck Everlasting. Non-Atheist - is it possible that Jesus's message was misinterpreted?

I respect all beliefs that respect others but I struggle to understand some. I am non-denominational and I've always wondered if Jesus's message was misconstrued by the men who wrote the gospels. I mean ... think about it, there are no first hand accounts and Jesus himself didn't write anything down. Maybe he wasn't calling himself the son of God ... maybe he was calling himself the child of God? He preached a good message - regardless of whether you're religious - that in itself is enough but maybe he didn't mean for his followers to take it out of context. Maybe he was just saying "believe". Could he have been a prophet? The early church delcared him divine in 380 A.D. Prior to that, he wasn't considered divine but it squashed the arguement over the church's rights if they made him a deity. Also, in nearly all of the other monotheistic faiths, there can be only one God but with him it creates a paradox. I do not doubt he was GOOD. I do not doubt his existence. And I do not condemn anyone who follows his teachings ... but it begs the question above.

I know quite a few including myself. I would guess that the vast majority of creationists were once evolutionists because that is what they are taught in school. Anyone who becomes a creationist does so by actually questioning the evidence instead of simply accepting what they have been taught. While there are different stories, I think it is very typical for someone to be exposed to Christianity as a starting point in questioning evolutionary beliefs. In my case, and I think this is very typical, I began to read the Bible after a conversion experience to Christianity. Since evolutionary theory and the Bible were in clear conflict, I began to question which one was right and started looking at the actual empirical evidence for evolution. I found it completely lacking and soon came to realize that science was squarely on the side of creation theory and that evolutionism was actually the religion.

Elderly cat information?

I have a wonderful cat named Tuxedo (but he has always been called Big). He is FIV positive (he contracted the disease before there was a vaccine for it). Im concerned because his weight is steadily dropping. He feels so very thin. His mood is good and his appetite is healthy, but I am still concerned about him losing so much weight. His last check up (about 4 months ago) showed everything was fine with his bloodwork. I guess what I am wondering is if anyone has any good ideas on what I can feed him to boost his weight. URGENT! Please help me with puppy housebreaking question?

My puppy is about 10 weeks old. I am working on housebreaking him. I take him out through the same door to the same spot on the same path every time to eliminate. The problem is that, as soon as I set him down to do his business, he does not stay at the designated spot, runs away and begins to eliminate elsewhere (after a long time of sniffing around). Having him eliminate anywhere else besides the prepared spot is not an option, but I am still working on leash training him, and he does not yet recognize his name. I am at a loss of how to get him to stay in his spot, so I can positively reinforce him when he goes. His elimination spot is a rocky area, in a yard with a gry lawn and a garden, in which I need to teach him not to eliminate. There is no way to fence in the spot. I have already tried putting his stools in the spot, to no avail. Please help me figure out how to get him to stay long enough in the right spot to eliminate! Thanks in advance for your help! :)

he really is a cute bunny, why not wait until the sun has moved over a bit, animals can overheat in the midday sun, why not wait until early evening and walk him then, it will be slightly cooler and the sun will not be so direct on your garden, that way you can still enjoy your walks and time together but your bunny will be a lot more comfortable and can enjoy it more, it is the hottest time of the day at about 12-2 so try and avoid this time about 4 it is still warm but not as burning as earlier in the day, you can carry a water bottle and if your bunny is looking too hot then just gently spray him to cool him down but if you walk him later in the day i am sure he will enjoy his walks with you a lot more, best of luck honey

I am currently in the military and am having trouble adjusting to the lifestyle. I decided to join the military on a whim with the objection of bettering my life. I am currently stationed in Korea with a little over 3 years left on my contract. Ohmygod , I know exactly how you feel. I had to do the same thing. To tell you the truth , its not as bad as you think. I don't really remember what exactly they did , but I guess that's a good thing hah(: you have nothing to worry about. When you get home , I would go to sleep, that's what I did. And I would eat soft foods, its not so much that it hurts you just don't wanna mess anything up. If gets a little weird colored , don't freak. Its all good , that's normal . Depending on how closeyours was to the surface depends on how long it will take, mine was pretty close and it took 3 months. During the procudure they don't put you to sleep, they give you a local aneshtic(laughing gas), struggle and they give you numbing stuff , you feel no pain at all except for two teeeeenny weeennnnny pinches . Why is punishment not a good way of reinforcing behavior?

Punishment is not always bad depending on which way we use it. Infact, through punishment and reward is how most of us grew up and learned right from wrong and even the most simple things in life. When used correctly, the punishment we receive is ociated with an unwanted behavior and through that punishment we will be less likely to act in that way ever again. If punishment is given in a form of neglect or abuse other bad habits and behaviors may occur later in life or the person on the receiving end of that punishment will be more likely to use abuse and or neglect on others. This is a good thing to keep in mind especially while parenting, you have no idea the impact of how your reinforce behavior to your children can effect that child for the rest of their live.

as far as cost per therm, natural gas most of the time wins with fuel oil coming in first sometimes. Pellets are out the roof, propane prices swing wildly sometimes. If you rent your propane tank, you can only buy from the renting company. Ferrel Gas is who I rented from and I was charged much more for my gas than they sold to customers who owned their own tank. I bought my tank and they tried to keep me as a customer by selling cheaper to me now that I owned the tank.. I told them to take a hike. So if natural gas is not available, propane is great if you own your own tank and shop around. Whatever you get make sure it is a 95% or better efficient furnace.

It sounds like you have a hot water leak. Somewhere in the hot water piping there could be a leak. This would explain low water pressure and lack of hot water. To test this; put a pressure gauge somewhere on a hot water line and turn the cold water feed to the hot water heater off. If the pressure drops , you have a leak. Usually these leaks happen under the floor and are hard to find and fix. For sure you should call the landlord and make him deal with it. A competent plumber could easily diagnose this.................

MS SQL 2008 EXP remote connection to a database help!!?

Please someone help. I was given an IP address xx.xx.xx.136 to connect to a DB on a 2005 SQL server. I figured I could FTP into it, but it's not allowing me. What I am trying to do is connect via 2008 SQL express, but I can't figure how to do so to access the database. I figured I could FTP into it, but its not allowing me. After talking with the sys admin he said to use 2008 (I have no experience with) to access the database and not FTP. he told me the '.136' IP is not for FTP. I have 2008 installed and ready to use, but how do i connect to his server so that I can access the site? any help will greatly be appreciated!

It did not turn out to be a romantic comedy, but a very sad portrayal of what some people think is normal or healthy in a relationship. The scene where Brooke (Jennifer Aniston) fights with Gary (Vince Vaughn) over not buying enough lemons for the center piece is beyond selfish and ridiculous. I am woman, but I was insulted and offended by women like Brooke who get mad about the men in their lives for not doing things that they could do themselves. To me it would be so much more healthy and wise to have bought the things she needed in the first place rather than rely on Vaughn to do it for her. Even though this is just a movie, I feel this is very true to life because I see many women complaining about things that their men do not do for them, but they knew these fellows were like when they first met them. However, Gary's character is not perfect either and I feel he is representative of the large number of men out there who are not ready for an adult relationship.

Hiya okay heres the deal. Iv been with my boyfriend for a few months now, so i suppose things are still new i guess but its been long enough to start to settle in a routine type of thing. I think the big city kids are less confident in themselves. Teens today want to fit in with their fellow clmates and friends. They seem not to have the guts to say to their friends who want them to get the piercings and tats that that looks frigging stupid and I am not doing that crap. Felony ault on an officer..?

let me preface this story with some details: at the time of the charge i was living in a townhouse with shared walls. one of these walls was shared with an absolutley rediculous couple whose only goal in life was to get me evicted, having called the police on me when i wasnt even home on 2 separate occasions. im 29 years old, have never been arrested nor been in a physical altercation. the nite in question: i was awaken at 5am to the sound of my front door nearly being beaten to the ground. i opened said door to find two officers in street clothes responding to a noise complaint (mind you was asleep, in my bed with my girlfriend, with nothing in the place on). after about 8 minutes of arguing that there was no noise being made, i began to become weary as to whether these people were even cops due to their completely unproffessional behavior, at one point telling me i was going to have an eviction notice on my door in the morning (which the morons should know isnt even legally possible. after flashing a badge, they told me to control my dog (an 80lb boxer) who was behind me barking, as i turned around to grab him the officers entered my hallway, at which point i became concerned for not only my safety but that of my lady. i began screaming for them to get out, bumping into one as i tried to get them out. they stepped out and i as tried to close the door busted back in, tackled me and threw in some good kicks for fun. i was then taken out of my home, shirtless(in true cops fashion) and charged with felony ault. my girlfriend, who was terrified, called 911 when i began yelling, was then detained by the uniformed officer who responded. I think, in life, you need as many friends as you can get. Sometimes expectations of how those friends should behave interfere with just enjoying the person for who they are, faults and all. I wouldnt worry too much about the other girl and what they are doing without you, thats between them, concentrating on something you cant understand or control can eat you alive. Try to focus on yourself and what you are doing. Plan fun events and invite your friend so you guys can get some one on one time and possibly re-discover each other. Try to not have expectations and tell yourself you can have fun with or without this person. Invest time with other people too, this person's friendship isn't the be all and end all of your life. Losing a friend can be like grieving for someone who has died, it's tough and emotional. Since you guys have been friends for so long it would be nice to grow old together and one day be sitting on the porch; grannies having a laugh about all this.

I started talking to a guy over the phone superbowl day... it was a brief exchange of information; at that time, he said he would call me either after the game or the next day; he did neither. I felt potential in him and decided to text him on Tuesday to see if he was still interested. he responded in kind and we texted throughout the day on Tuesday; I felt there was a connecting element. He's 35 and I am middle forties. This guy, by all appearances, has great morals, and has steady employment. That's much of what I ask for in a guy, these days. however, I seem to be doing much of the initiation. besides contacting him on Tuesday because of his failure to keep his word, I asked to have an actual conversation with him the same day after work and also asked to call him after 8 when I was finished with what i ws doing. But when I called him after 8 he did not avail himself until much later. and then Wednesday night, we were talking, but he preferred texting. Okay, so I agreed. But after we hung up, instead of texting me to continue the conversation, it was 3 hours later when he did so. But the frustration set in when he text me and I responded and the replies would come in nearly 20 minuteslater each time. So then, I text him and told him that "he seemed distracted; that i was saying goodnight; he text back nearly 20 minutes later and said "just watching T. V. and I didnt respond. Thursday morning, he texted: "hi". That's not all: Thursday night, he text me after leaving work, upon my request, I told him I knew he was tired, that after he'd rested up would he contact me because I would enjoy talking to him. he never did. I am so frustrated and angry at this situation because I made it clear the things I was looking for. Just basic companionship and conversation. He doesn't seem to want to make time. of course, he boasted about never having been inlove or had a girl that he really loved. What do you think I should do about this. So one day after school I saw my mom with a weird scary face and I was just staring at her wondering what was happening. My sister and I enter to the car and my mom just start to drive and telling us that tonight we were going to sleep in a hotel because a group of men were going to fumigate our house and that we couldn’t be there because the smell was toxic, so I stop asking questions and I just enjoy the night in the hotel. The next day after school we went home and everything was normal again instead of the smell, it was still there, but we really don’t care we just sit down for eat. My mom was normal again, so she decided to tell us the true about the weird night of the hotel; she told us that a crocodile was under the sofa and that it was huge and he just stay there and anybody can move it, my mom really was freak out she was so scare, she almost call the police, but then my that just call the staff man that worked in the hotel so they can take him out and left him in the lake again. I was shock I really get freak out to. That night, when I went to bed I really couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t sleep for a week I just feel the croc was under my bed. Eventually I get over it and just forget about that. A month later we heard about this old lady that always went with her puppy to the golf course to play with us and told us that her puppy had been bitten by a crocodile on his leg and that the puppy would never goanna walk well again, and after that we saw the puppy just walking all wrong and crying every time he walk. Every Sundays my family and I went to play golf and we always saw this old lady with his bitten puppy just seating on the golf course restaurant.
