Could i be pregnant,negative HPT?

My fiance and I have been trying for a while now to conceive. My menstrual cycle is very irregular so i cant depend on it. I have been cramping for about a week and a half now, like Aunt Flo is coming but has yet to. And my N-ipples are sooo sensitive to the touch. I took a HPT but got a negative result. Help?
